Event Description:
California law requires employers to provide a safe and non-hostile work environment. Unfortunately, behavior that disrupts the work environment, such as bullying, frequently is not addressed. Reasons are varied and include a lack of reporting, unhealthy power dynamics, and misunderstanding that jokes sometimes aren't funny. In this program we will discuss the more subtle aspects of workplace bullying, and what can be done to prevent it.
