Participants will learn to use job-related performance expectations to help support organizational goals, measure performance, coach employees toward improved productivity, and how to plan and conduct appraisal interviews.

The purpose and importance of performance appraisals
Critical approaches, tips, and guidelines to prepare for and conduct the performance appraisal meeting
Writing effective performance appraisal narratives that are consistent and that will ensure improved employee performance
Giving verbal and written feedback that won’t get a defensive response, but will generate results
Consistently setting clear expectations and specific, measurable goals
Dealing effectively with challenging performance appraisal situations
Coaching, communicating, and giving feedback all through the year, not just at performance appraisal time
