SDEA's Spring 2014 Strategic Leadership Series features Daphne Hearn, Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the San Diego Division of the FBI.
Ms. Hearn became a Special Agent in 1991 and over the past 22 years, she has served in a variety of positions throughout the FBI. Ms. Hearn began her career in the Buffalo and Chicago Field Offices where she focused on organized crime investigations.
In 2005, Ms. Hearn was promoted and served in the International Operations Division at FBIHQ, before becoming an Assistant Special Agent in Charge at the Washington, DC Field Office. In 2008, Ms. Hearn was again promoted and served as Special Assistant to Director Robert S. Mueller, III. From there, she was named as an SAC in the Los Angeles Field Office and transferred to San Diego as the SAC in June of 2012.
Ms. Hearn earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Kansas in 1987. After college she was employed by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as an Area Manager in the Topeka, Kansas manufacturing facility, and moved to the NCR Corporation as an Account Manager in Denver, Colorado, prior to her career with the FBI.
